System design wizards can automatically draw complete tree, grid, loop, in-rack or standpipe systems. Use each wizard over and over again in a drawing or various combinations thereof design "non-typical" jobs and make short work of the biggest projects. "Yea, it will do your demo jobs great, but what about our real world projects?" is the comment heard most often about fire sprinkler design software. Our answer, the 3 Point Design Wizard! This automated routine allows the user to create a complete system including accurate sprinkler placement at any elevation from finish floor or from the established roof plane. Branchlines and crossmains can also be set at differing elevations with automatically created riser nipples, drop nipples or sprigs to sprinklers. The designer need only define the system boundary over any number of irregular column spaces of the custom building being designed. Set a maximum square foot head spacing and the program will space sprinklers to the intelligent column line elements and structural member elements in one or both directions (Framed-In type construction). You can even set the design constraints to represent open web members and have the wizard keep sprinklers a pre-determined distance from them, maintaining the same overall design parameters, again in either one or both directions. A flat or sloping roof will work equally well; the system can also build-in a user defined crossmain and separate branchline slope for proper drainage of dry pipe or other systems. For example, create branchlines at 1/2" in ten feet and crossmains at 1/4" in ten feet drainage pitch. A custom building with 3-D roof planes can also be drawn quickly and easily utilizing the column wizard in conjunction with the Automatic Roof Plane command. The wizard will accept any number of vertical and horizontal bays. Individual bays are editable to any dimensioning with representing column bubbles fully customizable including location, size, type and text designation. Actual 3-D user defined tube or I-beam columns are generated at each column intersection to preset elevations. Individual elevations can be assigned to these columns recognizable to the roof plane tool. The Automatic Roof Plane command will interconnect all columns in addition to the top of any exterior walls created by our wall commands to emulate the building’s actual roof pitch. Structural steel elements representing beams or joists etc., can be added at specific elevations or follow the established roof planes. After the fire sprinkler system has been created to desired parameters, use the auto hanger command to place selected pipe hanger types on each pipe in the system. The system will now place hangers on pipes under a user specified length and can automatically determine exact rod lengths from the established roof planes or attach to the top or bottom of structural members. It will also look up the specified hanger type in our extensive data base and remove the required take out for the complete assembly. The 3-Point Wizard will also place a user defined riser assembly from the parts bin at the specified location complete with feed main from primary crossmain. To complete your system choose the remote area tool and drag a predefined remote area over the system and drop it at the hydraulically most remote area (see integrated hydraulics section). Establish optimum pipe sizes with our optimization tool. Use the auto coupling command with user defined pipe lengths and minimum pipe outlet distances from pipe ends to automatically insert grooved couplings. Finally, utilize the harmonization process to make certain that all pipe ends and fittings correspond to size and end-prep. Exact take outs are generated directly from our user-friendly database and deducted from required piping. The user can even determine the rounding for this procedure and specify if carry-overs are to be deducted from the next pipe or accumulated and deducted from starter pieces to keep typical pipes TYPICAL. Use our reflected ceiling tool to create a custom ceiling to any wall configuration. Try the convenient center ceiling command to aid justification. Easily place lighting fixtures or diffusers at desired locations by snapping them into the grid system. Place internally intelligent pendent sprinklers in the exact center or quarterpoint of the ceiling tiles. Activate AutoSPRINK VR's auto-armover routine to automatically connect these sprinklers to the overhead system with user defined piping configurations and constraints (i.e. arm-over, swing joint, goose neck or rooster tail).
